About the position CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Chief Engineer to join our transhipment vessel; Donnacona.
This vessel operates in Cape Preston, Western Australia and is a 24/7 operation for our customer: CITIC Pacific Mining.
Reporting to the Master, the Chief Engineer is the head of the Engine Department.
Responsibilities The safe/efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard; Supervising all Engineering Officers, while adhering to budgets and purchasing procedures of the Company; Safeguarding the Overs' and Company's interest at all times; Assisting the Chief Officer in the operation of the ship's cargo equipment; Keeping the Chief Officer advised of any bunker, lubricating oils or sludge transfers which may affect the ship's trim, stress and/or stability.
About you Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer class 1 (required ) Minimum 12 months sea time as a First Engineer (required ) Certificate of Safety Training (STCW III/2) (desirable) Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable) Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable) Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required) Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights Living in Australia Be comfortable wearing a respirator Application Process If you are interested in any of these roles then we love to hear from you Please submit your CV via our website.
