Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineering leader to join our team at Amazon. As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineering technicians and maintaining a focus on safety by training, developing, and coaching your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and mentor a Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering team to ensure site operations are maintained in a safe, standard, and efficient manner.
  • Work with the team and the wider network to harness technical expertise and build solutions.
  • Support the Reliability Engineering Manager in implementing, recording, and auditing safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for the shifts you own by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
  • Manage local projects or support Australia-wide projects as assigned by the manager.
  • Be prepared to work on shift to maintain a strong connection to the team and daily work.

A Day in the Life

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager, you will be based at one of our operational sites, where you will give practical guidance to your team and get a clear vision of what's happening at your site. This involves collecting data and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. You will also have the opportunity to create an operational plan to make the site more productive and efficient.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in managing people in an engineering team.
  • Relevant experience in liaising and managing relationships between a variety of stakeholders, including third-party vendors.
  • A degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university.
  • Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience of automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
  • Computer skills (MS Office, CAD).
  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S basic knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial controls, and industrial electronics & robotics.
  • Demonstrated ability in team management, budget responsibilities, supplier management, problem-solving, and client/customer relations experience.
  • Knowledge of all specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the Fulfillment Centre (FC) as well as maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement Process.
