POSITION SUMMARY
Amazon is on the lookout for skilled Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) Technicians.
The primary objective of the Maintenance Technician position is to uphold safety standards and regulations, ensure timely execution of preventative maintenance, and deliver exceptional equipment availability through ongoing enhancements.
This role is a full-time hourly position with varying day and night shift schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance across all equipment in the facility.
- Prioritize health and safety best practices in all tasks performed.
- Respond swiftly to equipment failures, communicate effectively with impacted teams, and work diligently to resolve issues.
- Foster continuous improvement by analyzing breakdowns and providing feedback and suggestions for enhancements through the line manager.
- Ensure high levels of equipment availability for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A Typical Day
As an RME Technician, you will be stationed on-site, allowing for rapid response to any machinery concerns. You will conduct a variety of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates safely. In addition, you will promptly address breakdowns, investigating and implementing solutions efficiently. You will also contribute ideas for long-term improvements.
Working closely with senior team members, you will handle routine maintenance tasks and general facility upkeep.
About Our Team
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is dedicated to keeping our equipment in optimal condition. We are a team of technically skilled individuals who excel in collaboration and are guided by experienced leaders. Together, we maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our extensive network of fulfillment centers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical trade license and mechanical knowledge, or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner)
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems
- Proficiency in fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience with conveyor systems, motor controllers, and inverters
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety standards and regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Knowledge of sortation machinery
- Background in an industrial setting
- Experience in maintaining and configuring barcode scanners
- Familiarity with print and apply machinery
