We are building Queensland's future with a large-scale infrastructure project, Cross River Rail, which will transform the way people travel in South-East Queensland.
CBCGU JV brings together CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella, and UGL to deliver the Tunnel and Station Package for Brisbane's Cross River Rail, a 10.2-kilometre rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD.
The project includes the construction of four new underground stations at Roma Street, Albert Street, Boggo Road, and Woolloongabba, where the upgraded Olympic stadium will stand.
All project sites and offices are based in inner-city Brisbane, offering an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working on a significant infrastructure project that will leave a lasting legacy for the city of Brisbane.
The Rail Safety Manager will lead and manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive rail safety management system, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust rail safety management system
- Providing technical direction, coaching, and guidance to project-based safety professionals and interfacing teams
- Conducting regular assurance activities to identify potential hazards and risks
- Investigating rail incidents and accidents, conducting thorough root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
- Liaising with regulatory authorities, project, and industry stakeholders
This is an exciting opportunity for a WHS practitioner with strong onsite experience and knowledge of rail safety legislation and regulatory bodies.
You will have a demonstrated ability to lead and implement safety initiatives and programs, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
As a leader in the industry, you will foster a collaborative and proactive safety culture within the team.
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
We value diversity and encourage applications from women, Indigenous Australians, and people of all cultural backgrounds.
