Electrical Technician Role

The key responsibility of this Electrical Technician is to deliver electrical maintenance and minor capital works for the council. This includes providing technical support for the management and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and replace electrical and instrumentation systems to resolve process faults.
  • Support apprentice electricians when required, ensuring they receive comprehensive guidance and oversight.
  • Provide expert advice to operations managers, team members, and contractors on electrical matters.
  • Interpret and update electrical engineering and P&ID drawings accurately.
  • Supply accurate data from completed works to enhance asset management systems.
  • Maintain compliance with WHS standards, regulations, and industry best practices while contributing to planning and budgets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Licensed Electrician - Possess an Electrical Supervisors Certificate and maintain your license.
  • Relevant post-trade training or qualifications, such as a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver Job Specific Key Accountabilities.
  • Demonstrated key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table.
