Pastoral Care Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastoral Care Specialist to join our Mission team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who wish to provide meaningful pastoral care services to people in our care across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute towards the efficiency and effectiveness of our Pastoral care team.
  • Engage in effective and nurturing relationship management with service users, their families and other stakeholders;
  • Maintain continual professional, personal and spiritual development through training, mentoring and supervision;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and reporting in accordance with organisational requirements.
Essential Criteria:
  • Qualifications: One or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent; relevant pastoral or theological study.
  • Experience: Proven ability to work effectively within teams across a large, complex organisation; understanding of pastoral and spiritual needs relating to those receiving services.
  • Demonstrated empathy and affinity with vulnerable people; understanding of the distinctions between Religion and Spirituality.
  • Familiarity with different faiths, including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including basic computer skills.
