Senior Mental Health Nurse Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our CAMHS Connect team at the Women's and Children's Health Network.

About the Opportunity
  • This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership and mental health expertise within the team via telephone-based therapeutic triage assessments.
  • You will be responsible for generating collaborative future treatment plans for clients accessing CAMHS services.
  • In partnership with senior staff, you will contribute to day-to-day clinical leadership and organisation of CAMHS Connect.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision to level 2 staff and ensure best practice standards are achieved in relation to entry into CAMHS.
  • Collaborate with other staff within the team around complex clinical presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with government, non-government, and private practitioners/service providers, consumers, and carers.
  • Accept accountability for the delivery of high-quality care consistent with the Department of Health & WCHN quality framework.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Registered or Eligible Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 3 years post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services.
  • Effective leadership skills including communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
