Position Overview: Director of Bible Christian Studies

  • Employment Type: Full Time Permanent
  • Role Summary: The Director of Bible Christian Studies will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the Bible Christian Studies curriculum, nurturing the spiritual growth of students, and promoting a Christ-centered educational atmosphere throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, execution, and assessment of the Bible Christian Studies curriculum for all grade levels.
  • Provide spiritual guidance within the school, coordinating worship services and various spiritual initiatives.
  • Instruct Bible Christian Studies classes, exemplifying effective teaching methodologies.
  • Support and mentor educators in delivering Bible Christian Studies, offering professional development opportunities and resources.
  • Ensure the incorporation of Christian principles across the school's curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Engage with families, local churches, and the broader community to enhance students' spiritual journeys.
  • Organize events that foster Christian fellowship and community service.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in theology, Christian education, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in teaching Bible Christian Studies or a comparable subject in an educational setting.
  • Proven track record in curriculum development and spiritual leadership.
  • A mature and active Christian faith with a strong alignment to the mission and values of St George Christian School.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a collaborative leadership approach.

Essential Criteria:

  • A personal commitment to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a Church or Christian community, embodying Christian beliefs and practices.
  • Acceptance of the school's Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to foster cooperative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students, and families.
  • Commitment to personal best practices.
  • Decision-making grounded in factual information, ensuring impartiality and fairness.
  • Model effective communication practices.
  • Act in the best interest of the school and its ethos.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the institution.
  • Possess a First Aid certificate.
  • Hold a Working With Children Card.
