Position Overview: Director of Bible Christian Studies

  • Employment Type: Full Time Permanent
  • Role Summary: The Director of Bible Christian Studies plays a crucial role in shaping the spiritual and educational journey of students through the Bible curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, execution, and assessment of the Bible Christian Studies curriculum across all grade levels.
  • Provide spiritual guidance within the school, coordinating worship services and various spiritual initiatives.
  • Instruct Bible Christian Studies classes, exemplifying effective teaching methodologies.
  • Support and mentor educators in delivering Bible Christian Studies, offering professional growth opportunities and resources.
  • Ensure the incorporation of Christian principles throughout the school's academic and extracurricular programs.
  • Engage with families, local churches, and the broader community to foster students' spiritual development.
  • Organize events that encourage Christian fellowship and community service.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant degree in theology, Christian education, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in teaching Bible Christian Studies or a comparable subject in an educational setting.
  • Proven track record in curriculum design and spiritual leadership.
  • A mature and active Christian faith, with a strong alignment to the mission and values of St George Christian School.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a collaborative leadership approach.

Essential Criteria:

  • A personal commitment to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a Church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian values and practices.
  • Acceptance of the school's Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to foster cooperative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practices.
  • Decision-making based on factual evidence, ensuring impartiality and fairness.
  • Modeling appropriate communication channels.
  • Acting in the best interest of the school and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures established by the institution.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Working With Children Card.
