Position Overview: Director of Bible Christian Studies

  • Employment Type: Full Time Permanent
  • Role Summary: We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Christian educator to take on the role of Director of Bible Christian Studies. This key position is responsible for the development and execution of our Bible Christian Studies curriculum, nurturing the spiritual growth of students, and promoting a Christ-centered educational atmosphere throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and assessment of the Bible Christian Studies curriculum for all grade levels.
  • Provide spiritual guidance within the school community, coordinating worship services and spiritual initiatives.
  • Instruct Bible Christian Studies classes, exemplifying effective teaching methodologies.
  • Support and mentor fellow educators in delivering Bible Christian Studies, providing professional development opportunities and resources.
  • Ensure the incorporation of Christian principles throughout the school's curriculum and extracurricular programs.
  • Engage with families, local churches, and the broader community to foster students' spiritual development.
  • Organize events that encourage Christian fellowship and community service.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant higher education qualification in theology, Christian education, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in teaching Bible Christian Studies or a comparable subject in an educational setting.
  • Proven track record in curriculum development and spiritual leadership.
  • A mature and active Christian faith, demonstrating a strong commitment to the mission and values of St George Christian School.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to leadership.

Essential Requirements:

  • A personal commitment to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a Church or Christian community, embodying Christian beliefs and practices.
  • Acceptance of the school's Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to foster cooperative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practices.
  • Decision-making based on factual information, ensuring impartiality and fairness.
  • Model effective communication channels.
  • Act in the best interest of the school and its ethos.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the school.
  • Possess a First Aid certificate.
  • Hold a Working With Children Card.
