Job Summary:
St George Christian School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Christian leader to join our team as the Director of Christian Studies. This pivotal role involves shaping and delivering our Christian Studies curriculum, guiding the spiritual development of our students, and fostering a Christ-centered learning environment across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Christian Studies curriculum across all year levels.
- Spiritual Leadership: Provide spiritual leadership within the school, organizing worship services and other spiritual activities.
- Teaching and Mentoring: Teach Christian Studies classes, modeling effective teaching practices, and mentor and support teachers in delivering Christian Studies, offering professional development and resources.
- Integration of Christian Values: Ensure the integration of Christian values across the school's curriculum and co-curricular activities.
- Community Engagement: Engage with parents, churches, and the wider community to support students' spiritual growth.
- Event Organization: Organize events that promote Christian fellowship and service.
Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in theology, Christian education, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive experience in teaching Christian Studies or a similar subject within a school context.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and spiritual leadership.
- Christian Faith: A mature and active Christian faith with a strong commitment to the mission and values of St George Christian School.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
Essential Criteria:
- Personal Faith: To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Church Involvement: To actively be a part of a Church or Christian community and exemplify Christian beliefs, behavior, and practices.
- Statement of Faith: To accept the school's Statement of Faith.
- Relationship Building: To build co-operative and supportive relationships with the board, principal, staff, students, and parents.
- Decision Making: To ensure that decision making is based on fact and is impartial and fair.
- Communication: To model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- College Interest: To always act in the best interest of the school and its ethos.
- Policies and Procedures: To adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by the school.
- Certifications: First Aid certificate and Working With Children Card.
