Are you a seasoned safety professional looking for a challenging role? We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Perth, Western Australia.

About the Role
  • This is a key position that will play a vital role in promoting and providing guidance aligned with our Corporate strategy and ensuring compliance with Work Health Safety (WHS) legislation across all Health & Safety matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and provide guidance aligned with Corporate strategy
  • Ensure compliance with legislation to Health & Safety matters across all Projects
  • Provide functional and technical advice to employees, contractors, and other relevant parties, ensuring they are aware of standard safe behaviors and actions required by us
  • Advocate participation in the Group Harmonisation process and manage the implementation to Projects
  • Manage the accuracy and integrity of site Health and Safety data in our system
  • Participate in ICAM investigations and provide technical mentoring and coaching for the management of incidents
  • Ensure site safety training packages and inductions meet required standards
  • Liaise with relevant parties to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory Health and Safety compliance

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety coupled with experience in a similar role in the resources sector
  • Excellent leadership experience and skills in advising, mentoring, and coaching diverse stakeholder groups
  • An ability to implement strategic plans and lead teams
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to facilitate groups and present information
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Significant experience in incident investigation
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable legislation
  • Auditing experience
