About Our Health and Safety Position:

Our organization is currently seeking a seasoned Health and Safety professional to join our team on a major project in Western Australia. As a key member of our safety support team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Deliver site inductions, pre-starts, and toolbox talks to promote a positive safety culture and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance, including hazard trends and compliance with legislation and company systems.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and the site workforce to maintain a strong safety focus and continuous improvement mindset.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in a civil construction or mining environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO 45001, and site safety systems.
  • Proven incident investigation skills and a strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques.
  • A Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) and a Diploma in WHS (desired).
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
