Health and Safety Professional

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Professional to join our team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across a large-scale operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of HSE strategies and systems.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture that focuses on hazard identification and behavioural leadership.
  • Partner with senior leaders, operational teams, and contractors to align safety objectives with operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, internal standards, and industry best practice.
  • Oversee investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on HSE performance metrics.
  • Deliver HSE training and capability programs across all levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive HSE leadership experience within mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety legislation, environmental management, and risk frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead cultural change and improve safety performance.
  • Experience in contractor management and collaborative safety initiatives.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Recognised HSE qualification (Diploma/Degree in OHS, Environmental Science, or similar).
  • Incident investigation and risk management accreditation (desirable).
