
Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

The role of Health and Safety Specialist is crucial in providing expertise to clients, ensuring the well-being of their staff.
This position requires a deep understanding of health and safety regulations, legislation, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review contractors' health and safety documentation, identifying areas for improvement and communicating compliance or gaps in relation to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and enhance health and safety review protocols as necessitated by legislation.
- Perform desktop audits of health and safety programs and/or other HSE documentation.
- Coordinate product development initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert with clients.
- Proactively analyze processes and bring forth ideas for continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field from an accredited university. You should also have understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, related state statutes/regulations, or local ordinances and ISO/Management Systems standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications, you will also require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated personal initiative, and desire to assume increasing levels of leadership responsibility.
