About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to join our team. As a Financial Services Specialist - Tax Expertise, you will play a key role in assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and staying updated on changes in tax laws.

You will work closely with our Tax Manager to ensure all tax compliance requirements for Australia, New Zealand, and other jurisdictions are met accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of income tax returns (Australia and New Zealand) including maintaining workpapers, schedules, and file notes.
  • Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and analytics for Australia and New Zealand, including assistance with ensuring compliance obligations and supporting materials are maintained in accordance with Australian and New Zealand tax legislation.
  • Preparation of Research and Development tax offset claim.
  • Ensuring tax payments and lodgments are made by due date, including income tax instalment and withholding tax etc.
  • General consulting & advisory, including drafting technical position papers.

Requirements
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Experience in either a professional accounting firm or an in-house corporate tax unit.
  • Tax knowledge, in particular income tax and fringe benefits tax.
  • Competent in technical and practical accounting, strong in tax effect accounting.

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $80,000 and $120,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.
