About the Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to lead a diverse team of operators in a fast-paced, high-performance environment at a large-scale, world-class mine.

As a Site Operations Centre Lead, you will be responsible for creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, supporting, developing, and coaching your team. You will also provide expertise and report events and hazards in a timely and accurate manner.

You will drive continuous improvement to generate new ideas that benefit the business and undertake performance and development reviews incorporating documented feedback in line with BHP people systems.

In this role, you will identify, build, and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching, development, and documented succession planning.

You will provide visible leadership and support business decision making through accurate data capture on asset performance and assist in the development of reporting tools that help support business improvement for rapid development of underground operations.

You will also assist in developing and embedding new processes, standards, and procedures for the Site Operations Centre and remain open to multiskilling in control functions of the Site Operations Centre and project/leadership roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a mine control room or underground environment and demonstrated experience and understanding of underground mining environments and the regulations and safety protocols of this setting.

You will also have experience with control room systems and programs for either underground (e.g., Pitram, SCADA, Pi, Orb, Khronos) and demonstrated experience in fostering a strong safety culture based on open and transparent communication with all operational stakeholders.

You will be self-directed, able to work autonomously to achieve individual, team, and organisational goals, and possess well-developed oral and written communication skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail.
