Senior Mining Engineer Opportunity

The successful candidate will lead a team of mine scheduling engineers to deliver safe and accurate mine schedules from 24 months to weekly time horizons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain complex mine scheduling models using Deswik SCH.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that mine schedules meet all requirements and are aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify schedule critical paths, risks, and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate these.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate the mine schedule into broader business planning processes.
  • Communicate effectively with site and corporate leadership teams to provide timely and accurate reporting on progress against key performance indicators.
  • Develop and implement training programs for mining engineers to improve their skills in mine scheduling and use of Deswik SCH.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in mine scheduling and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the organization.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working in underground, hard rock, metalliferous mining environments.
  • Mine scheduling experience in sub-level open stoping mines.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • High level of technical expertise in mine scheduling, including proficiency in Deswik SCH.
