Factory Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Manager to lead our manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cabinet making or carpentry, with proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

They will also possess a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, capacity planning, and inventory management.

Additionally, they should have experience working with MRP systems, process knowledge, and familiarity with cabinetry machinery.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage and control manufacturing and warehousing activities, as well as drive a culture reflective of organisational values.

Key responsibilities will include managing production requirements, controlling purchasing functions, and ensuring inventory is effectively managed.

They will also be responsible for executing plant maintenance plans, leading teams to contribute to organisational goals, and implementing quality and service standards.

  • Drive culture reflective of organisational values, implementing and maintaining safe and supportive workplace culture through WHSMS and driving continuous improvement culture.
  • Manage and control all manufacturing and warehousing activities and processes to ensure daily planned production requirements are actioned to meet customer commitments with most efficient use of capital and resources.
  • Manage and control purchasing function to ensure daily and cycle procurement requirements are actioned to meet customer commitments with focus on just in time supply to maintain minimum stock levels and in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Ensure inventory is effectively managed, monitored and controlled as per business plan, at a minimum to cover supplier risk, yet also service customers' requirements, thereby delivering on unit working capital targets.
  • Manage, control and execute plant maintenance plan and resources to support optimal production efficiencies at optimal cost.
  • Manage and control logistics operations to deliver customer commitments with focus on high quality and service through most efficient use of resources.
  • Lead teams to effectively contribute to organisation goals, standards and desired culture.
  • Drive service and quality culture, managing performance of operations to meet company quality and service standards.
  • Implement and maintain company environmental management systems (EMS) to enable efficient use of resources, reduce waste and minimise impact on the environment.
