Job Title: Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Mercure Sydney Blacktown. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of hospitality professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Front Office team, working closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and Food & Beverage teams.
  • Supervise and monitor team members, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Take initiative to resolve guest complaints and challenges, ensuring a positive and productive experience for all guests.
  • Ensure the hotel's operation runs smoothly in the absence of the General Manager or Front Office Manager, maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Process and assist with check-in and check-out of guests, responding to and coordinating emergency situations.
  • Assist with preparation and service of all-day dining orders and cafe orders.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in the hotel industry, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and Opera.
  • Guest-obsessed focus, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Leadership qualities, with the ability to extend yourself to assist colleagues, maintaining high levels of communication with other departments.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Hold a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
