Senior Project Manager – Civil Bulk Earthworks Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and market-leading national civil contractor seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of challenging projects, working with a diverse range of stakeholders and ensuring the project's successful execution.

Types of projects include demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation, and rehabilitation, with values ranging from $2.5 million to $25 million, and potentially up to $50 million.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working on tenders to secure new contracts
  • Planning and scheduling construction activities to ensure timely completion
  • Managing site project teams to achieve project objectives
  • Ensuring quality assurance, cost control, and time management
  • Preparing regular project reports for key stakeholders
  • Resolving site issues in a timely manner through effective problem-solving
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to maintain positive relationships
  • Coordinating internal and external resources to support project delivery

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 5-15+ years' experience in managing civil construction projects with values of $5 million to $20 million+
  • Project management qualifications are advantageous
  • A proven understanding of construction principles and practices
  • An ability to lead and delegate effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
