We are seeking a dynamic and committed Physics teacher to join our community at St John Paul II College, a Catholic, co-educational secondary school serving families in the north of Canberra.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and be able to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly effective communicator who can engage positively with colleagues, students, and parents.
The role involves creating a supportive and safe learning environment that meets the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, record, and evaluate work to be undertaken by classes
- Communicate with parents in written reports and parent-teach interviews
- Contribute to the professional development of other staff members
- Participate in regular professional development, such as reading and attending courses
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Teaching or Master in Teaching
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and/or Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registrations
- Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration and/or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation
Selection Criteria
- Thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to create a supportive and safe learning environment
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, plus superannuation. The benefits include paid parental leave, extensive training in our high-quality professional learning program, and opportunities to transfer to other schools within the Archdiocese across ACT and NSW.
