We are working with one of Sydney's largest Councils to fill a key leadership role in their risk management team. As Risk and Insurance Manager, you will play a critical part in developing and implementing the council's risk frameworks.

Salary

The salary for this position is approximately $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

This opportunity has you develop the risk frameworks and provide business growth from the ground-up. With a collaborative and skilled team, plus the support of the board and senior management, this is a great chance for someone who is looking to take the next step up in their career and have ownership and drive to execute their strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and develop key risk management strategies as well as the Business Continuity Program
  • Conduct all relevant audits as required
  • You will be responsible for processing external liability claims, supporting the preparation of annual insurance policies, and working closely with the insurer to analyse and improve our risk management processes
  • Investigating accidents/incidents/near misses
  • Maintain and uplift the risk management frameworks
  • Partner and liaise with relevant stakeholders on risk procedures and recommendations

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Risk experience working within Council or State Government
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering experience
  • Ability to lead and manage a small team
  • Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks – insurance practices, protocols and claims management
