The Department of Justice and Community Safety is committed to delivering an effective corrections system. Our Community Correctional Services team works closely with Corrections Victoria to manage and supervise prisoners on parole, clients under post-sentence supervision, and court orders.

We strive to make Victoria a safer place by providing responsive and culturally appropriate services that meet the objectives of our Aboriginal Justice Agreements.
About the Role
In this critical role, you will work in Frankston managing both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal offenders on court orders. Your responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, providing interventions, and addressing the underlying causes of offending.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal offenders on court orders
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare case plans
- Provide culturally sensitive support to offenders to successfully complete their court orders
- Balance risks to community safety while supporting offender rehabilitation
- Advise the Koori Court to assist in the sentencing process
Requirements
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Koori Community
- Understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, socially and culturally, and the issues impacting on it
- Experience in effective case management practices, including proactively managing risk of complex individuals
- Ability to model pro-social behaviours and motivate individuals who are being case managed
- Assertiveness and confidence in dealing with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours
