About the Role

Our organisation delivers an effective corrections system for a safe community. As an Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer, you will engage with the local Aboriginal Community to help support community safety. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting risk assessments and preparing case plans for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal offenders on court orders.
  • Providing culturally sensitive support to offenders to successfully complete their court orders.
  • Addressing the underlying causes of offending and providing interventions as needed.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with members of the Victorian Koori Community.
  • An understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, socially and culturally, and the issues impacting it.
  • Effective case management practices, including proactively managing risk of complex individuals.
  • Assertiveness and confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours.
