About the ALCC Program

The ALCC program aims to provide early intervention support to Aboriginal families who have been reported to Child Protection. This initiative prioritizes cultural safety and community engagement to ensure effective outcomes for all stakeholders involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convene and facilitate case conferences with cultural sensitivity and expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal families and community members.
  • Collaborate with elders, community leaders, and extended family networks to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Advocate for the interests of Aboriginal children and families within the child protection system.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or relevant field, or significant experience working with Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, with a commitment to ongoing learning and growth.
  • Proven experience in case management, including risk assessment and management planning.
  • A Working with Children's Check and Victorian Driver Licence are mandatory.
