Aboriginal Case Manager Role

This is an ongoing, full-time position based in Victoria. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in addressing the over-representation of First Nations people affected by the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload with a majority of Aboriginal individuals to reduce the risk of reoffending through conducting thorough risk assessments and developing personalized case plans.
  • Create and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal clients and collaborate with Aboriginal justice networks to identify suitable support services.
  • Communicate effectively and sensitively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
  • Pursue partnerships with local support services and the Koori Court to ensure effective case management of individuals.

Requirements:

  • Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
  • Successful engagement with local support services and the Koori Court in the case management of individuals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, encompassing both social and cultural aspects, as well as the issues affecting it.
  • Proven experience in effective case management practices, including proactive risk management of complex individuals.
