Job Title: Housing Shelter Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Lead to join our Housing Shelter team at Our Place Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and support to staff and residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and support to staff and residents, promoting a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of staff and residents, responding to medical emergencies and maintaining a safe and calm environment.
  • Assist with resident support plan development and delivery of services, collaborating with the Site Supervisor and support team.
  • Perform wellness checks and assist residents with activities such as room cleans and laundry.
  • Maintain an active file for each assigned resident and assist with applications and referrals.
  • Utilize de-escalation skills to mitigate challenging situations and maintain a safe and calm environment.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and other professionals/support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in a related human, social services field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years recent related experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity.
  • Ability to deal in a positive and collaborative fashion with individuals, family members, and community contacts.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week), Thurs/Fri/Sat NIGHTS (7pm to 7am). The hourly rate is $29.85 to $34.26, plus an extra $1 per hour for night shifts. Benefits include vacation accrued at a rate of 6% and eligibility for a 100% employer-paid comprehensive benefits plan, including health and dental coverage, after completion of the probationary period.
