We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Lead to join our Housing and Shelter Services team at Our Place Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and support to staff and residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Assist with the development and implementation of resident support plans, working closely with the Site Supervisor and support team.
- Perform wellness checks and provide support to residents as needed.
- Assist with daily tasks, including room cleans, laundry, and maintenance of on-site facilities.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and other professionals to provide comprehensive support to residents.
- Oversee the daily functioning of the shelter/housing site, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and staff.
- Provide authentic and engaging leadership, delegating tasks and overseeing daily operations.
- Diploma in a related human or social services field.
- A minimum of two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
- Training in or knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
- Ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in an intense and challenging work environment.
- Effective personal boundary setting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs.
This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week). The shifts will be from 7pm to 7am, Monday to Wednesday. The hourly rate is $29.85 to $34.26, with an additional $1 per hour for night shifts. Comprehensive benefits are included, including health and dental coverage, after completion of the probationary period.
This position requires union membership.
