Housing/Shelter Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Lead to join our Housing and Shelter Services team at Our Place Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and support to staff and residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff, responding to medical emergencies and incidents as needed.
- Develop and implement resident support plans, working closely with the Site Supervisor and support team.
- Perform wellness checks and provide assistance with daily living tasks, such as laundry and room cleaning.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports and statistical information.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support services to residents.
- Oversee the daily functioning of the shelter/housing site, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Diploma in a related human or social services field.
- Minimum of two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs and be on feet for up to 6 hours of shift.
- Competitive hourly rate of $29.85 to $34.26, plus an extra $1 per hour for night shifts.
- Eligibility for a comprehensive benefits plan, including health and dental coverage, after completion of probationary period.
