Housing/Shelter Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to join our Housing and Shelter team at Our Place Society. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to our staff and residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff, responding to medical emergencies and incidents as needed.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to engage residents and promote their independence and well-being.
- Collaborate with the Site Supervisor and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter and housing site.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports and statistical information.
- Provide training and support to staff members, promoting their professional development and growth.
- Work closely with partner agencies and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.
- Diploma in a related human or social services field.
- Minimum of two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and resident-centered care.
This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week). The successful candidate will be required to work nights, including Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The hourly rate is $30.75 to $35.29, with an additional $1 per hour for night shifts. Comprehensive benefits are available after completion of the probationary period.
