Dispute and Risk Resolution Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Dispute and Risk Resolution Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day transaction dispute related administrative tasks, providing high-level customer service, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.

About the Role

  • You will utilize processes, procedures, and company policies to assess transaction or activity alerts and make sound decisions.
  • Monitor and analyze transactional activity through transaction monitoring systems within payment platforms, identifying unusual or suspicious activity and escalating it when necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize losses and increase recovery ratios.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality of work.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Handle chargeback and direct debit claim management according to internal policies and scheme standards.
  2. Respond to client inquiries in a timely, professional, and efficient manner, resolving disputes promptly and minimizing disruptions.
  3. Analyze data from transaction monitoring systems to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  4. Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes and procedures, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
  5. Provide recommendations to management on escalated approval requirements and initiate consistent merchant communication and follow-through of risk investigations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in payments industry or related experience within applied payment dispute management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to collaborate, exchange information, and gain mutual support in a small team environment and with internal partners.
  • Ability to develop a good understanding of different business models, products, services, types of customers, geographic locations, and potential risks associated with those activities with relation to payments.
