Job Title:

Procurement Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met, managing changes and resolving disagreements.
  • Identify risks and issues, proposing mitigation actions to the Project Manager.
  • Provide interpretation and advice on customer procurement policies, regulations and contract requirements to stakeholders.
  • Offer internal guidance on contract obligations, requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract documentation and administration systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Business Development and Finance to manage program financial arrangements, including milestone payments, cash flow management and escalation provisions.
  • Manage contractual health and safety compliance, supply chain assurance and acceptance activities.
  • Contribute to bid and proposal activities, including preparing commercial elements and participating in management reviews.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or Law.
  • Experience in contract management, supply chain or procurement in contract and supplier management activities.
  • Ability to engage, influence and build strong working relationships to achieve common goals and project objectives.
  • Expertise in stakeholder- and risk/opportunity management.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work productively in team and autonomous environments.
  • Knowledge of ASDEFCON procurement and contract methodology (desirable).
