Senior Contract Specialist

Job Description:

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contract Specialist to join our Commercial Contract Management team.

This role will involve managing the full contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance, reducing risk and making sure every clause supports our strategic goals. You will be responsible for crafting, reviewing, negotiating, executing and monitoring contracts and contract variations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Managing the entire contract process from inception to completion.
  • Proposal Review: Reviewing and providing contractual oversight of new client proposals.
  • Critical Deliverables Management: Ensuring timely delivery of critical project milestones and assisting with contract deliverables.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, legal standards and governance frameworks.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identifying and resolving commercial and contractual issues across all organizational levels.
  • Commercial Governance: Cost control, invoice accuracy, payment timing and savings initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintaining relationships with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders, providing updates and facilitating collaboration.
  • Change & Variation Control: Managing scope changes, contract variations, renewals and extensions of time (EOT), including documentation and approvals.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitoring cost control, invoice accuracy, payment timing and savings initiatives.
  • Governance & Reporting: Providing accurate reports on contract performance and financial status to senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Contract-savvy with experience in procurement, negotiation, drafting and resolving complex contract issues.
  • Project-ready mindset with strong program management skills and ability to juggle competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety-first attitude with solid understanding of WHS requirements and commitment to creating safe work environments.
  • Analytical and adaptable with strong financial acumen, legal awareness and ability to find practical solutions to complex problems.
