Job Overview

This role reports to the Senior State Manager and works in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will play a pivotal part in shaping regional automation and robotics strategies — driving technical excellence while laying the foundations for innovative solutions.

As the lead for engineering solutions, you will work alongside Sales teams to design and deliver customer-centric solutions, present to executive-level stakeholders, and drive business growth. This position is ideal for a senior professional who combines strategic vision with hands-on delivery, and who is motivated to make a long-term impact on both the industry and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategy Development
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align frameworks, share resources, and strengthen delivery.
    • Lead solution design and implementation, integrating automation and robotics technologies to support customers' Factory of the Future ambitions.
  2. Business Model Transformation & Partnerships
    • Support the Sr. State Manager to achieve regional sales and profit targets by co-developing customer solutions and presenting at executive-level engagements.
    • Drive sustainable business models leveraging innovative solutions and expand engineering and service businesses.
  3. Regional Leadership & Delivery (VIC/SA/TAS)
    • Mentor and guide regional engineers, ensuring structured processes, high-quality delivery, and adherence to industry best practices.
    • Coordinate cross-functional resources across engineering and service teams to optimize outcomes.
  4. Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct manager
Qualifications & Skills
  1. Engineering Degree with at least 8+ years' experience in automation, robotics, or industrial solutions, including project management.
  2. Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, take ownership of results, and drive change with resilience.
  3. Business Acumen: Skilled in developing compelling proposals, securing funding or grants, and shaping innovative business models.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills with a track record of building partnerships with government, universities, industry leaders, and internal teams.
  5. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automation and robotics technologies (PLCs, SCADA, robotics, Industry 4.0) with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
