Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Automation and Robotics professional to lead our regional strategy, drive technical excellence, and lay the groundwork for a future Proof of Concept (PoC) Centre in Melbourne.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to align frameworks, share assets, and strengthen capabilities. You will prepare and position us for a future Melbourne PoC Centre by driving partnerships with universities, industry, and government, and securing funding and resources.

You will be responsible for leading solution design and proof-of-concept delivery, integrating automation and robotics technologies to support customers' Factory of the Future ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sydney PoC and Oceania engineering teams to achieve aligned goals
  • Develop and execute regional automation and robotics strategy
  • Drive sustainable business models leveraging PoC capabilities and expand engineering and service offerings
  • Mentor and guide regional engineers to ensure structured processes and high-quality delivery
  • Represent us at executive forums, trade shows, and industry seminars to strengthen market presence and reputation

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree with at least 8+ years' experience in automation, robotics, or industrial solutions, including project management
  • Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, take ownership of results, and drive change with strategic vision
  • Business Acumen: Skilled in developing compelling proposals, securing funding or grants, and shaping innovative business models
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills with a track record of building partnerships with government, universities, industry leaders, and internal stakeholders
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automation and robotics technologies (PLCs, SCADA, robotics, Industry 4.0) with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value
