
Investigative Authority Professional

This role focuses on leading and managing the assessment and investigation processes within an organizational framework. The primary goal is to build a robust system that prevents, identifies, and mitigates risks related to allegations or suspicions using the 'look, do, tell' framework.
The Investigative Authority Professional will be responsible for liaising with external stakeholders such as statutory children's protection agencies, relevant regulators, governing bodies, authorities, and other identified experts. This includes analyzing complaints, concerns, and incidents to identify causes and systemic failures, informing continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversight of allegations and investigations, as well as risk assessments in relation to reportable conduct, falls under the Investigative Authority Professional's purview. Additionally, this role involves participating in root cause analysis of complex incidents and working with field staff to address practice issues arising from investigations.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo excel in this position, candidates must possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Law, or equivalent experience.
- Strong employee relations and case management experience, as well as investigation of child protection concerns and incidents.
- An understanding of government regulators, including the Fair Work Ombudsman, Child Safe Organisation principles, and Education and Care National Law and Regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills, enabling quick identification of concerns for children's safety and wellbeing, and making appropriate decisions to ensure safety and wellbeing.
- Able to achieve results through collaboration and influencing, with exemplary interpersonal skills.
