As the Investigative Authority you will work in a fast-paced and influential team of passionate professionals. Acting as a point of issue escalation, you will engage alongside line managers and senior leaders to provide a high level of hands on support, with a focus balanced between IR/ER compliance and our Safeguarding Children framework. Your success will be your ability to conduct objective assessments, investigations and resolve complex employment relations matters where you will provide high quality, tailored and humanised case management to appropriatly assess and triage matters efficiently.

You will be self-assured in your ER practice with your expertise critical to continuously improve gaining data insight, identify trends and inform where to prioritise effort to minimise risk.

You will liaise and connect with Goodstarters, their leaders and third parties to the tools and resources required to make informed decisions. You will offer development, mentoring and technical leadership to the broader People team that provide coaching and advice to Goodstart's people managers.

Your Impact

Manage the assessment and investigations process at an organizational level
Build the knowledge and capacity of staff to prevent, identify and mitigate risks for any allegations or suspicions using the 'look, do, tell' framework.
Liaise with external stakeholders such as statutory children's protection agencies, relevant regulators, governing bodies, authorities and other identified external experts.
Analyse complaints, concerns and incidents to identify causes and systemic failures so as to inform continuous improvement.
Provide oversight for allegations and investigations, and risk assessments in relation to reportable conduct.
Participate in root cause analysis of complex incidents.
Work with field staff to address practice issues arising from investigations.

**You'll help achieve this by**:
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Law, or equivalent experience
Strong employee relations and case management experience and/or investigation of child protection concerns and incidents, investigations.
An understanding of government regulators (such as Fair Work Ombudsman, Child Safe Organisation principles as described by the Human Rights Commission, the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian and the Victorian Commission for Children and Young People, and Education and Care National Law and Regulations).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly ascertain concerns for children's safety and wellbeing and make the appropriate decisions to ensure safety and wellbeing.
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through collaboration and influencing; and
The ability to deal effectively with a broad range of people at all levels in business with exemplary interpersonal skills.
