Job Role: Compliance and Investigations Officer

We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Investigations Officer to conduct investigations into licence holders and other parties who may be in breach of legislative requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the integrity of the industry and the protection of Queenslanders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations into potential breaches of legislation administered by the relevant authorities, including job site operations and investigative activities under relevant acts.
  • Develop investigation plans, manage high-volume caseloads, and apply best-practice investigative techniques such as offence elementisation, evidence matrix development, and conducting interviews.
  • Prepare briefs of evidence for disciplinary, civil, or criminal proceedings, conduct proactive compliance activities including audits and surveillance, and provide advice on regulatory matters.
  • Represent the organisation in educational activities and tribunal or court proceedings, and deliver high-quality customer service while supporting day-to-day operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV in Investigation or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of three years' investigative experience, ideally in a government or regulatory environment.
  • Strong alignment with the organisation's vision and values, demonstrating resilience, initiative, and a commitment to customer engagement.
  • Ability to build relationships, communicate clearly, and uphold professional and legislative standards.
