Regulatory Compliance Specialist

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a skilled professional to lead regulatory investigations into allegations of non-compliance with Victoria's liquor legislation.
Key duties include:
- Conducting in-depth examinations into alleged breaches of the legislation administered by the Commission, identifying issues to be investigated and recommending appropriate action.
- Identifying and investigating existing or potential risks of non-compliance or social harm arising from the operation of licensed premises.
- Initiating enforcement action using sound judgement and discretion in response to identified breaches of laws, regulations or conditions.
- Preparing accurate and thorough reports, briefs and correspondence on all investigations, inspections and compliance enforcement activity.
- Assessing, identifying and appropriately managing and escalating operational and reputational issues and risks.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience and expertise in a compliance or regulatory environment, including experience in conducting and managing complex investigations and preparing briefs. Relevant tertiary qualification and/or formal qualifications in investigations are highly desirable.
