About the Job

\

The role of a Regulatory Compliance Specialist is to undertake regulatory activities in relation to water regulation and various health domains. This includes conducting assessments, preparing reports, and taking action when non-compliance is identified.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desktop and onsite assessments of regulated entities\
  • Prepare reports, advice, and correspondence as required\
  • Take essential regulatory action when non-compliance is identified\
  • Provide input into compliance review frameworks and development of annual plans\
  • Assist in developing a risk-based regulatory approach to legislation\
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and address areas of non-compliance\
  • Develop responses to emerging issues and areas of risk for government and community\
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities\
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of work activities\
  • Demonstrate impact of actions on clients and departmental delivery\
  • Perform stand-by duty out-of-hours on a rotating roster regarding water quality incidents and emergencies\
  • Travel to regional and remote areas as required\
  • Suggest improvements and efficiencies in regulatory processes\
  • Support the development of regulatory responses to address emerging issues\
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory matters\
  • Collaborate with senior management to deliver effective support and services\
  • Represent the department at external events and meetings\
  • Engage with stakeholders to build relationships and promote regulatory compliance\
