Import Operations Supervisor: Global Logistics Expert

This dynamic role is centered on effectively managing and overseeing all aspects of import freight operations. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with various departments to foster a collaborative environment within the branch. Your responsibilities will include:
- Automating cargo consolidation processes to streamline operations.
- Overseeing the processing of documentation handovers to ensure seamless communication.
- Liaising with airlines for flight information and freight availability to maintain efficient supply chains.
- Processing all check-ins before the end of the day to meet tight deadlines.
- Assisting the warehouse team in maintaining speedy and accurate import services to meet customer expectations.
- Reporting and monitoring damage and surplus cargo to management, investigating and taking appropriate action, including claims processing in line with company procedures.
- Responding promptly and professionally to all claims using established claims policies and procedures.
- Conducting on-the-job training for new staff in relevant work practices and systems to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Participating in customer sales visits to improve operational issues and relations.
To be successful in this position, you must possess:
- Strong leadership qualities to motivate and guide teams.
- A clear understanding of pallet sizes, weight restrictions, and knowledge of weight balancing to anticipate daily volumes from pre-alerts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Freight Forwarding/Logistics industry to provide valuable insights and expertise.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues to address any queries or concerns.
- Demonstrated ability to understand employees' concerns and provide alternative solutions.
- A high level of customer service and maturity when dealing with customers, peers, and managers.
- Possessing high integrity, reliability, and a collaborative approach as a team player.
- In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding operations to make informed decisions.
- Strong management style and decision-making skills to drive business growth.
