Albina Street Homelessness Support Position

- We are seeking a Housing/Shelter Support Worker to join our team in Albina St, working 3 days a week.
The ideal candidate will have experience in human/social services and possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills. A Diploma in a related field is required, along with knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with resident support plan development and delivery of services in collaboration with the Team Lead/Site Supervisor and support team.
- Develop rapport and trusting relationships with residents.
- Perform wellness checks.
- Participate in shelter setup and cleanup.
- Distribute harm reduction supplies and personal hygiene items to residents.
- Assist with activities such as room cleans and cleaning out vacant rooms.
- Help residents with applications and referrals for housing supports and other community resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma in a related human/social service field.
- Minimum one year of recent experience in a related field.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
