
Empathetic Homelessness Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our team in addressing homelessness.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with diverse populations, and demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice.
This role involves providing support services to individuals experiencing homelessness, including assistance with accessing stable housing and wrap-around supports.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with stakeholders across the region to support client transitions into social housing.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support services to clients experiencing homelessness
- Assist clients in accessing stable housing and wrap-around supports
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement client-centered plans
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g. social work, counseling)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and community development
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The Homes First program is a Victorian State Government initiative that provides stable housing and supports to people experiencing homelessness.
CatholicCare Victoria has been contracted to deliver the Homes First program in the Loddon and Wimmera-South West regions.
