Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking an organised and passionate individual to coordinate educational programs for students who require additional support.

About the Role
  • Coordinate SPARC and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) programs, overseeing organisation, management, and implementation.
  • Advocate for students who need extra assistance to facilitate active participation in their academic environment.
  • Support teachers and Learning Support staff in successfully implementing student programs.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external providers to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting students.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement strategies and supports to help students succeed and feel included in the academic community.
  2. Collaborate with teachers, students, external providers, and other learning support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  3. Ensure a culture of inclusion and diversity within the College community, promoting a sense of belonging among all students.
  4. Work closely with the LEAPS team to develop and implement individualised programs tailored to each student's needs.
Requirements
  • A qualified teacher with current registration or someone with significant experience in disability and education.
  • Current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Passion for supporting students with disabilities and creating inclusive learning environments.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
