The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.

RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

About the role

You will effectively coordinate the delivery of education services activities and projects for surgeons and aspiring surgeons. You will also:

- Manage the successful delivery of educational courses throughout Australia such as face-to-face courses, workshops, online learning and resources.
- Coordinate and support faculty members to deliver activities including faculty recruitment, retention and reward and recognition.
- Oversee participant enrolments including registrations and withdrawals.
- Monitor revenue and expenditure of courses.

Skills and Experience

- Completion of Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Event Management or Education or relevant work experience.
- Experience coordinating events and educational workshops.
- High level of customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy with various levels of staff including senior staff, Fellows, vendors, and course presenters.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare appropriate reports, correspondence, emails and other communication.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High level attention to detail with the ability to think laterally.
- Ability to effectively problem solve.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite.
- Intermediate level understanding and knowledge of database systems and reporting, including Dynamics365.
