Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated pathology professional to assist in the provision of effective and efficient specimen reception and phlebotomy services, ensuring all laboratory practices comply with relevant guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pre-analytical sample preparation, data entry, and the efficient referral of samples to other laboratories.
  • Work closely with laboratory staff to ensure high-quality specimen processing and timely results.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all aspects of pre-analytical specimen processing, including proficiency in laboratory information systems.
  • Provide excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards, respecting patient confidentiality and the importance of patient results.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of or demonstrated ability to quickly learn all aspects of pre-analytical specimen processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal local supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively use or quickly acquire the ability to use the laboratory information system.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective interaction within a work group and between clients.
