The Business Development Representative role involves identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, nurturing leads, and contributing to continued success.
This role focuses on a sustainable blend of lead generation and sales effectiveness, with the aim of accelerating the company's footprint in the payments market.
As a BDR, you'll be responsible for generating new leads by researching and identifying new merchants within various industry sectors and markets who would benefit from an enhancement in their payments infrastructure.
- Conduct initial discovery calls and other multi-channel approaches to qualify leads, gather information about business needs, pain points, and existing payment infrastructure, and determine strategic fit for offerings.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and Product teams to align on target accounts, share market insights, and ensure seamless handoff of qualified leads.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activities and customer interactions in CRM (Salesforce), ensuring healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Clearly articulate value proposition of payment solutions and technological capabilities in consultative, solutions-focused manner, demonstrating how they can help prospects achieve business goals.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with go-to-market efforts through planning, representation, and participation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
This role is ideal for candidates with flair for tech, payments, and fintech industry. Key qualifications include 1-2 years of experience in BDR or similar outbound sales role, preferably within SaaS, fintech, or payments industry.
Key skills and attributes include exceptional communication skills, sound research and prospecting skills, resilience and positive attitude in face of rejection, natural curiosity for technology, and proficiency with CRM software, specifically Salesforce.
