Senior Risk Management Specialist

FourQuarters Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Specialist to lead the Technology and Cyber Risk function within the Technology Business Unit. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and executing risk management strategies to ensure the Technology risk posture remains within the business appetite.
Key Responsibilities:- Risk Management Strategy and Planning: Provide input into the Technology Risk Management strategy and yearly plan of activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management Advice and Support: Offer expert advice and support across all Technology platforms, ensuring effective risk management practices are implemented and maintained.
- Controls Assurance and Reporting: Contribute to the development of the controls assurance plan, perform controls assurance over critical controls, and deliver reporting to Technology Leadership, Risk Office, and Board to represent Risk Indicators and significant events.
- Risk Remediation and Incident Management: Manage risk remediation activities, report on approaching and overdue actions, and oversee and manage Incident Management for events with external impact to customers or partners.
- Risk in Change Assessments and Business Continuity Management: Conduct Risk in Change assessments for significant implementations, Cloud workloads, and AI use cases, and coordinate and update Business Continuity Management for Technology to ensure recovery strategies and plans are risk-based and actionable.
- Documentation and Coordination: Document and coordinate Risk Acceptance for issues requiring leadership acceptance and agreement of remediation activities to bring risks within tolerance levels.
- Regulatory Compliance and Industry Best Practices: Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure the Technology platform meets regulatory and partner requirements.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technology Risk, Internal Audit, Legal, and Compliance, to ensure an integrated approach to Technology Risk Management, and lead, mentor, and develop a team dedicated to Technology Risk Management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISM, CRISC, CISSP) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Third-Party Risk Management, Technology Risk, Cyber Security, or a related field with proven experience of supporting, implementing, and managing risk management programs.
- Skills: Strong understanding of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., APRA CPS234 / CPS230, SOX, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, Privacy Act, SOCI, etc.), strong communication skills, and ability to translate risk into business impact.
- Personal Qualities: Self-starter with strong organisational skills in a highly-adaptive and fast-paced environment, customer-oriented mindset, and ability to apply a collaborative approach to achieving business outcomes.
