About the Role

CMC Markets is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Specialist to join our Risk Management team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in effectively embedding a culture of risk management within our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and review operational risk assessments across various departments, assisting key stakeholders with risk identification and mitigation.
  • Prepare operational risk reports for the board and committees, including loss and near-miss reporting.
  • Work with business areas to ensure effective key risk indicators are in place and reported.
  • Analyze trends in key risk indicators and recommend controls to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Provide support and advice in updating risk data within our operational risk system.
  • Ensure incidents and breaches are recorded and reviewed for effectiveness.
  • Update local operational risk policies to reflect best practice.
  • Assist with risk-based monitoring and internal/external audits.
  • Conduct operational risk training and induction.
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet changing demands.
  • Represent CMC Markets in a professional manner in internal and external meetings.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in operational risk within financial services in Australia.
  • Solid knowledge of operational risk principles.
  • Understanding of business governance frameworks and business continuity best practice.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Relationship management, influencing, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional ability to remain calm under stress.
  • A relevant degree or qualification.
